Agent P's World Showcase Adventure: A Vacation Within a Vacation

Atrraction Review

Attraction: Agent P's World Showcase Adventure

Park: Walt Disney World, EPCOT

Parent Rating (worth your Disney Minutes?): E - Exceeds Expectations

Kid Rating: Awesome (on a scale from "Bleh" to "Awesome")

Our family loves Disney World, and during our most recent visit, our girls discovered Agent P's World Showcase Adventure at EPCOT. At first, this mom was rolling her eyes and thinking about the multiple ways that this was going to slow us down. Then I realized, 'hey, there are multiple ways this is going to slow us down!'

My husband and I prefer a laid-back vacation, but when we travel with our girls, it's anything but. It's GO GO GO. So when we stumbled upon this Agent P kiosk in the World Showcase, it was the best of both worlds: the girls received their Agent P secret mission, and my husband and I enjoyed watching them complete it.

What is Agent P's World Showcase Adventure at EPCOT?

If you haven't heard of Agent P, he is the alter ego of Perry the Platypus of Phineus & Ferb fame. Agent P recruits EPCOT visitors, (perfect for kids between the ages of 6 and 16), to complete secret missions which take place in the following country pavilions: China, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Mexico and United Kingdom.

The secret mission, should you choose to accept it, plays out while interacting with technology that you borrow from the Agent P kiosk. Your secret agents are given clues to solve the mission. As it was explained to me by a Disney Cast Member, there are multiple missions for each country, so it can be different each time your secret agents play. You can also play as many missions as you have time for. The technology will prompt you to move onto the next country and give you a new mission, OR, it will tell you where to deposit your technology within the country (so that you do not have to return it to the kiosk).

Why this attraction is worth your Disney minutes?*

This attraction is like a vacation within a vacation. If you have a Park Hopper, and your day is planned for the World Showcase, this is a perfect tie in.

1. Each mission lasts 30 to 45 minutes. That's 30 to 45 minutes where you can have adult conversation, and where your secret agents are completely entertained.

2. Each mission takes place in one country at a time. Your family will be in one country at the same time, and you can easily keep an eye on their activity.

3. Each pavilion has one way in, and one way out. You will not lose your secret agents, for they are within the country pavilion.

4. Each pavilion offers food and drink, so you can sip and nosh your way through the World Showcase.

5. When you are finished, you can deposit your technology in the secret Agent P receptacle within the country; you never have to return to the kiosk (unless you really want to).

*While it sounds as though we just set our little secret agents loose in the pavilion, we kept a watchful eye on them. This was an opportunity for them to have a little independence from their parents (and visa versa) during a week filled with togetherness, and we set a few rules and guidelines for them to follow so that we were all on the same page.

Our Family Rules and Guidelines:

1. Do not knock anyone over. In other words, keep your eyes up so as not to trip anyone while your darting around...which brings me to guideline number 2...

2. Walking feet. The secret mission does not have a time limit, nor does it expire. So, walk where you need to go and you won't break rule number 1.

3. We agree on a designated meeting place. Usually, we stayed in one place near the entrance of the pavilion, and if they needed our help to solve a mission, then they knew where to find us. We always knew where they were (we just never told them that part).

All in all, we had a wonderful afternoon. As a Disney fanatic that has visited Walt Disney World parks MANY times, this was a new experience. And it offered something for everyone.
