The Ready Set Plan Guide to Sustainable Hosting

Style that feels as good as it looks.

1. Rent, Don’t Buy

The most sustainable item is the one that already exists! By renting your decor, glassware, and linens, you’re keeping "one-and-done" plastics and cheap decor out of the landfill (and out of your basement).

2. Less Paper, More Charm

If you love the look of a physical menu or place card, use our 8x10 Gold Frames or Teal Letter Boards to display the info for everyone to see.

3. Ditch the Disposables

Elevate your drink station with our real glassware. Our beverage bins look much better with chilled glass bottles than with plastic cups. Bonus: drinks actually stay colder and taste better in glass! And don't forget the drink dispensers - no need for plastic water bottles!

4. Sourced Locally

When it comes to food and florals, think "Twin Cities first." Supporting local makers reduces transport emissions and ensures your party has that authentic metro flavor.

5. Composting & Real Napkins

Swap paper napkins for our Textile Shop linens. They’re softer, more elegant, and we handle all the heavy-duty laundering. If you do have food waste, set up a discreet composting station for your guests.

6. The "No-Gift" Shift

If you’re hosting a celebration where guests feel inclined to bring a gift, suggest a donation to a local Twin Cities non-profit or a "book exchange" instead. It reduces packaging waste and spreads the love.

If you have any sustainable event needs, please reach out. With hundreds of stemware, linens, themes and decor, we are sure to have something that will work for your next celebration at an affordable price! amanda@readyset-plan.com
